Megkom and BOE are pleased to announce an initial test deployment of CUBO passive multiplexing equipment with a systems integrator (SI) in the Baltic region. Pending a successful end customer trial of the equipment the SI plans to incorporate the CUBO ultra-compact product lines in its portfolio for sale in Lithuania, with potential growth into Latvia, Estonia and Finland.

The one year frame agreement will include Business Development, Sales and Market entry consultancy services in Scandinavia, the Baltic region and Canada.
CUBO (Cube Optics AG) uses proprietary technologies to supply customers with extraordinarily compact, high performance and robust fiber optic components, integrated modules and systems.

January 22, 2007 FIBRENET.CA announces AUVF.NET project
Megkom's division FIBRENET.CA has established its first development project in Ramara Township. The Atherley Uptergrove Village Fibre Network project will explore the fundamental economic of a Fibre To The Home (FTTH) deployment in the rural village located on the top of Lake Simcoe. The objective of AUVF.NET will be to determine whether a FTTH solution can be deployed providing open access to existing service providers that can delivery Internet, Telephony and TV and Video based services.
January 15, 2007 FIBRENET.CA Division Established
To pursue this FTTx market segment Megkom has created a new division called FIBRENET.CA which will facilitate the deployment of rural broadband services to under serviced communities across Canada. This division of Megkom provide business development consultancy for the establishment of community based rural broadband networks staring in the second quarter 2007 from its Orillia base.
